The Brief
During a meeting with the university president, we delved into the essence of the holiday season and her personal perspective. Inspired by our conversation, I envisioned a unique holiday card that would embody the spirit of the university and evoke a sense of campus nostalgia. To achieve this, I carefully handpicked iconic landmarks that held special meaning to the president and skillfully illustrated them. Through my creative process, I sought to capture not only the university’s identity but also the vibrant atmosphere that envelops the campus during the holiday season. The result was a heartfelt and visually captivating card that perfectly reflected the university’s character and fostered a strong connection with the recipient.

In celebrating the rich history and distinctive landmarks of Montana State University (MSU), I embarked on a captivating design journey that honored President Cruisado’s remarkable contributions to the campus. The composition of the holiday card showcased iconic MSU buildings, including The Norm Abjornson Hall, The New Residents Hall, Montana Hall, Romney Hall, Jake Jabs Hall, and The Noodle, with Barnard Hall gracefully accentuating the backdrop. Immersed in the intricate process of designing and illustrating these architectural marvels, I discovered a newfound passion for capturing the essence of campus life. Adding a touch of whimsy and MSU pride, I subtly incorporated hidden M’s within the delicately crafted snowflakes. The final output left me elated, as I realized that designing and drawing architecture brought me immense joy and fulfillment.
